"Where beauty, fashion, and success wear lipstick and six-inch heels"

Fashion, A-Z at FIT

An exhibition that features over 50 haute couture garments and accessories has already caused a major fashion sensation. Fashion, A-Z: Highlights from the Collection of The Museum at FIT-Part One, is one of two consecutive exhibitions, which highlight the museum’s most prized creations from their permanent fashion collection.

Featuring designs from the likes of Chanel, Prada and Versace, this fashion extravaganza will seek to represent the most powerful and influential fashion designers from the 18th century to the present. Several more fashion pieces that have just been added to FIT’s permanent collection will also be displayed for the very first time, including an Alexander McQueen for Givenchy black silk coatdress from the 1990s. In addition, 21st Century designer Rick Owens will display some of his “glamour meets grunge” aesthetic, including his batwing jacket and skirt, which will bring a modern and fresh component. Part One continues through May 8, 2012. Don’t miss the fashion eye candy FIT so graciously offers!
