KahriAnne Kerr grew up in Triploi, Iowa where she was surrounded by malls full of convenient fashion finds. But, there was nothing that appealed to her taste, “I was tired of all the generic clothes at the mall, so I started making my own,” she tells us during her photo shoot. “I always hated when people wore the same thing as me in high school and we have limited selection in Iowa, so I taught myself how to sew and design, so I would get exactly what I wanted.”

A girl who has always known exactly what she wanted even as a child, “I’ve always been a picky dresser since I was a toddler,” she admits, Kahri tells us, “When I was in 4th grade I got in trouble for wearing a hat in the cafeteria and I wouldn’t take it off because it matched my outfit. Sitting in the Upper East Side’s chicest salon, Valerie Joseph Blow Bar, Crissy is full of makeup advice and tricks. “The secret to lashes is layering!” she tells us, as she carefully places each individual lash on her lid with tweezers. Such a delicate process that requires a very steady hand, but Crissy makes it look easy. As a former beauty editor at Glamour, Aggie Burnett, was asked to work the “Beauty Closet” one day, and from there her love for testing different fragrances flourished. But, her love for identifying scents always existed from within, “One of the first memories I have in regards to my eagerness for scent was pulling out my grandpa’s prized tulips from his garden, and rubbing the petal to release the essence of the it,” she tells me during her prep for her photo shoot.

As a journalism graduate from NYU, Aggie later realized that perfume was her passion and expanded her studies at Columbia, where she studied science to better understand the chemistry behind cosmetics and fragrances. “I loved doing everything by myself, which were ideal signs pointing towards entrepreneurship,” she laughs.
