Whitney Eve Fall 2012 Collection at Mercedes-Benz NYFW

Just in, Whitney Port shows her Fall 2012 collection, Whitney Eve, at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week this morning, at 9 a.m. With none other than People’s Revolution’s, Kelly Cutrone, working her show, it was not a surprise when Cutrone kicked out an onlooker from the first row, exclaiming, “This is not my first F****** rodeo.” I mean, did we expect anything less?
Right before the show started, Whitney posted on her blog, “I can’t believe this day has finally come and I am so excited for you all to see this labor of love.” And so were we! Whitney filled the runway with unique prints featuring peplum blouses, tapered and tailored pants, soft tailoring, and casual suiting. The cocktail dresses showcased geometric beading and sheer fabrics, while the cocktail shorts included patterned velvet heavily embelished. Topping the collection with layering pieces, Whitney presented an effortless glam style– one that was youthful but still mature in style.
When Whitney was asked what inspired her collection, she explained the connection between a kaleidoscope she found in her Grandmother’s house, and the graphic shapes and jeweled tones that stood out most to her. With that, she created shattered prints that are ready-to-wear, confident and unique.
Whitney, herself, stood in a red patterned skirt, with a long-sleeve blouse, and stilettos with socks (which we LOVED #stilettosandsocks).
Whit, thanks for starting our day off with a fashion show worth tweeting about. ;)
